How to enable the Magento Demo Store Notice
When you are developing your store and you want your visitors to know that you are still working on it, it is a good idea to enable its Demo Store Notice. This way the following notice will be shown at the top of your store:
This is a demo store. Any orders placed through this store will not be honored or fulfilled.
and your visitors will know that they should not place any orders yet.
To enable this notice, log in to your Magento admin panel and go to System > Configuration > Design option on the left > HTML Head. At the bottom of the HTML Head section you will see a drop-down option for Display Demo Store Notice. Set this to Yes to enable the Magento demo store notice and click Save Config to save the change. Then you can visit your store's frontend to see the notice.
