How to install Magento extensions
In order to install a Magento extension, you first need to get the extension's key from the official Magento website. You need to select the correct extension key for your Magento Connect Version. If you are running Magento 1.5+, you should get the extension key for Magento Connect Version 2.0. If you are running Magento 1.4 or older, you should get the extension key for Magento Connect Version 1.0.
Once you have the correct extension key, go to your Magento admin panel > System > Magento Connect > Magento Connect Manager. Paste the extension key in the field marked as:
Paste extension key to install:
and click the Install button. You will see the extension you are about to install, as well as any dependencies it may have. To install the extension, click Proceed.
You will see information about the installation process in the output frame at the bottom of the screen.
