How to configure the system sales options in Magento

To change the system configuration sales settings log in to the admin panel of your Magento and go to System>Configuration>Sales button in the Sales section on the left. This will display several panels with settings on the right.

In the General panel there's a single setting with which you can hide the IP address of the customer on order information pages, shipment and invoice pages in the admin panel. From the Checkout Totals Sort Order panel you can change the order of the price totals as shown on the shopping cart page and the checkout page on the frontend. Those with a lower number are shown above those with a higher number (the grand total is always at the bottom no matter what number you put for it). The Reorder panel contains an option with which you can remove the reorder button from the customer account settings on the frontend. By default, reorders are allowed which means that in the customer account settings on the page that lists all previous orders there will be a reorder button for each order.

From the panel Invoice and Packing Slip Design you can change the logo that's displayed on PDF print-outs (invoices, packing slips, credit memos). You can download invoices, packing slips, etc in PDF format from Sales menu>Orders. From the Minimum Order Amount panel you can enable and set a minimum order amount. To do this just set the Enable drop-down menu to Yes and type the minimum sum in the Minimum Amount field. There are also text areas in which you can specify a description and an error message to be shown on the shopping cart page on the frontend when the subtotal of the order is less than the minimum amount.

The Dashboard panel contains a single option for improving the performance of the admin panel's dashboard. By default, the setting is disabled. If you enable it, the information displayed on the dashboard will not be the most recent/update information available. The Gift Options panel contains a couple of options with which you can allow customers to specify a gift message for the whole order or per item in the order. When one or both options are enabled the customer can type the message(s) at the Shipping Method step of the checkout process.

From the Minimum Advertised Price panel you can enable the minimum advertised price (MAP) function. This is used when you offer a product(s) with a price that's less than the minimum price for that product specified by its manufacturer, and that manufacturer has certain requirements not to show that price if its less than their minimum advertised price. In such a situation set the Enable MAP drop-down menu to Yes. Then if you want all prices in the catalog to be hidden set the Apply MAP option to Yes. If you want to hide the price only of several products, set the Apply MAP option to No; once the MAP function is enabled you can edit the product(s), click on the Prices tab on the left and use the Apply MAP option to enable MAP for that product.

From the rest of the system MAP settings you can configure where the actual price should be displayed and the popup messages. If you select On Gesture from the Display Actual Price drop-down menu, customers can view the price on product list and product details pages by clicking on a link (a popup window appears showing the price and a message). If you select In Cart, the price is hidden on product list and product details pages and it's shown on the shopping cart page, in the cart sidebar and on the checkout page. If you select Before Order Confirmation, the price is shown only on the checkout page.
