How to create image maps in PrestaShop

In PrestaShop you can add image maps to categories. They are displayed on the category page on the frontend of the store. Image maps can make it easier for customers to find products within the category.

To make an image map, log in to the backend of your store, click on the Catalog tab and then on the Image Mapping sub-tab. On the page that opens click on the Add new button in the upper left corner. On the page with the image map settings type the name of the image map in the respective text field, click on the Browse button next to the field for Image to be mapped, locate the file on your local computer and click on the Upload image button. Once you do it you'll be brought back to the Image Mapping sub-tab page. Click on the edit icon for the image map you just added.

The image map settings page will open again. This time the image you uploaded will also be displayed. By dragging the mouse pointer mark the area of the image that you want to turn into a link to a particular product in the category. A text field will appear under the image. Type the name of the product there and click on the OK button. After you're done mapping the image, scroll down the page and from the Categories option select the category in which you want the image map to appear. Then click on the button Save Image Map(s).
