How to set CuteFTP to connect to your hosting account

CuteFTP is an FTP client (depending on the version also supports FTPS, SFTP, etc.) for Windows and Mac OS X users. There are three versions for Windows (lite, home, professional) and one for Mac. They are not free but there's a 30-day trial period.

You can download CuteFTP and read more about it from the official site.

Here we'll set CuteFTP Lite to connect to your account, but the others are set in the same way. Once you've downloaded and installed it on your local computer make sure you have created an FTP user from the FTP Usernames section of the Pixie control panel, and then start CuteFTP.

In the Connection Wizard, which opens automatically when you start CuteFTP, enter your domain name in the field for Host Address, then click on Next and type the name and password for the FTP user in the corresponding fields, after that you can choose the default local folder to be displayed in the left panel of CuteFTP, and finally click on Finish. Now you should be connected to your hosting account.

If you want you can also check our CuteFTP tutorial for more detailed information on how to configure CuteFTP.
