How to add, edit and delete preconfigured order messages in PrestaShop 1.5-1.6

On the order details page in the admin panel there are settings with which you can send a message(s) to the customer about the particular order. You can type a new message or use one of the preconfigured messages. The preconfigured order messages can be managed from Orders menu>Order Messages sub-menu. In this article we'll briefly go over the options in that section of the admin panel.

Add New Order Messages

To create a new order message that you can then save and send to any of your customers, go to Orders menu>Order Messages sub-menu and click on the button Add new order message (in PrestaShop 1.5 it's labeled Add new). On the page that opens there are a couple of options. Type a name for the message in the field for Name and the content of the message in the Message field. Then click on the Save button.

Edit Order Messages

To edit a preconfigured order message, go to Orders menu>Order Messages sub-menu and in the table with the existing messages click on the Edit button for the particular message. In PrestaShop 1.5 the button is an icon that looks like a pencil.

On the page that opens you can edit the name and content of the message.

Delete Preconfigured Order Messages

To delete a preconfigured order message, after you go to Orders menu>Order Messages sub-menu click on the arrow that's next to the Edit button for the particular message and in the menu that appears click on Delete. In PrestaShop 1.5 the delete button is an icon that looks like a trash can.
