How to download and manage delivery slips in PrestaShop 1.5-1.6

The purpose of a delivery slip is to be sent to the customer with the order, so that the customer can check whether the order contains all the products it's supposed to contain. It's up to you whether or not to actually send delivery slips to customers. PrestaShop creates them automatically and if you want to, you can use them.

In this article we'll briefly discuss how you can download delivery slips and what the delivery slip options are. For screenshots and some more details check out the tutorial on how to manage delivery slips in PrestaShop.

Download a Delivery Slip

You can download a delivery slip for an order from the order details page in the admin panel. Go to Orders menu>Orders sub-menu and select the particular order. On the order details page there are a couple of ways to download the delivery slip for that order. One is to use the button View delivery slip that's at the top of the page. When you click on it a window will pop out with which you can download the delivery slip.

The other way is to use the link in the Documents block that's on the order details page. The block lists the delivery slip. The ID number of the delivery slip is a link with which you can download it.

Whether the delivery slip is actually created and available depends on the status of the order. Some of the statuses are configured in a way so that when you change the status of the order to one of these statuses, then PrestaShop automatically creates the delivery slip. Statuses that are configured to do this are, for example, Preparation in progress, Shipped, Delivered.

Generate a PDF File with Delivery Slips for Many Orders

In PrestaShop there are options with which you can generate a PDF file with many delivery slips. To do this, go to Orders menu>Delivery Slips sub-menu in the admin panel. On the page that opens there's a block Print PDF Delivery Slips. Specify the dates in the fields for From and To and click on the button Generate PDF file. A window will pop out with which you can download the generated file. It will contain all the delivery slips created during the specified period.

Delivery Slip Options

On the page that opens after you go to Orders menu>Delivery Slips sub-menu in the admin panel there's a block Delivery Slip Options. It contains a few options related to delivery slips. From the option Delivery prefix you can set the prefix that's used with the ID numbers of delivery slips. For example, if the prefix is DE, then delivery slips will be labeled #DE000001, #DE000002, #DE000003, etc. You can set a different prefix for each of the installed languages. If you leave the field blank, no prefix will be used.

With the option Delivery number you can set the number for the next delivery slip that's to be created.

If you make any changes don't forget to click on the Save button.
